Big Boy Bed

Opportunity knocked and we answered!  Jeff's parents painted their house different shades of browns and greens and this bed no longer matched the room it was in, so we decided to take the bed for Eric and buy him a bigger bed in a few years.

Eric loves his big boy bed.  He refers to it as his big boy bed any chance he gets and is very proud that he sleeps in it every night.  We stuck with the helicopter theme as the grandparents already had the helicopter bedding and sheets (which match his lamp and nightlight).  It goes perfectly in his room and he is even sleeping longer in this bed.  I have only had to lay with him one time at nap time.

At bed time, he plays with his cars on the opposite end of his bed and when he is ready to sleep, he goes back to the head of his bed, gets under the covers and goes to sleep.  We hear lots of 'dings' when his cars hit the metal bars.  He then repeats the 'ding.'  The hardest part of it all is that I used to put Ally in Eric's crib after bath to keep her contained while I got him dressed.  Now I have to lock her in the bedroom with us otherwise she runs into the bathroom and starts playing with the shampoo and soap, or into my bedroom and playing with my rings...(the girl likes her jewelery!)

The set-up and take down

All set-up

A temper tantrum after the bath was quickly thwarted by the new big boy bed

Ready for a good nights sleep
He looks so tiny, he used to look huge in his crib (he knocks those pillows off every night so we don't even use them anymore- they are his landing pad in case he falls off!)

And his favorite daytime activity on his new bed...jumping
